Our Services

There’s a lot we do at Ridge Pointe Dental.

Our Specialties

Families Ages 1 & Over

Dr. Hohlen is a huge advocate of the Age 1 Dental Visit.

Here’s why:

Some parents avoid taking children to the dentist to save money. However, studies show dental costs for children who have their first dental visit before age one are 40-percent lower in the first five years of life than for those who do not see a dentist prior to their first birthday.

Early visits to the dentist also familiarize your child with the dental office. That helps reduce anxiety and fear for future visits. Your child should be seen for his or her first visit within 6 months after the eruption of the first tooth – no later than the child’s first birthday.

Both the American Dental Association and the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommend that all children have their first preventive dental visit by age one.

“Ridge Pointe Dental’s Age 1 Dental Visit Advocacy Plan”

How it works:

If both parents are patients of record and in good standing with our office, checkup visits for children ages 0 to 2 will be complimentary of Dr. Hohlen (unless arranged otherwise by insurance). This plan includes 4 checkup visits (12, 18, 24, 30 months old).

What to expect:

Dr. Hohlen will provide a comprehensive oral examination to assess:

  1. Growth and development
  2. Oral hygiene
  3. Dental decay (cavities)
  4. Injuries
  5. Other possible problems.

After the evaluation, he will clean the teeth (as indicated) and provide parent education and tips for the daily oral care of your child. We will also discuss and evaluate your child’s fluoride exposure. Finally, Dr. Hohlen will assess risk for development of tooth decay and provide information regarding oral development, teething, pacifier or finger/thumb sucking habits, and injury prevention. We’re always more than happy to answer any questions parents may have at the end of any appointment.

Specialty Care

Wisdom Teeth:

Some people are lucky, but most of us don’t have enough room for wisdom teeth. So, Ridge Pointe Dental monitors and evaluates wisdom teeth as they develop, and removes them when it’s time.

Monitoring & Evaluation:

We use a digital panoramic radiograph to watch wisdom teeth as they develop. Most patients have a new panoramic radiograph taken every 3-5 years. Typically, the first one is taken around age six or seven. That way, we can evaluate the mixed dentition of primary (baby) and permanent teeth.

Removal or referral:

Dr. Hohlen has vast experience in oral surgery, specifically the removal of wisdom teeth. Ridge Pointe Dental offers an incredibly comfortable environment, caring staff, oral sedation options, ceiling mounted flat screen televisions, and the absolute highest degree of competency and excellence a general practice can offer. If your case is complicated or it would be best suited for you, Dr. Hohlen will refer you to a dental specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery so you can receive the very best care for your specific needs!

Dental Implants:

Tooth replacement through dental implants is an absolute game changer these days!  It’s never been easier, more predictable, or more natural. Whether it’s one tooth, a few teeth, or all your teeth, you have options for definitive, fixed replacement through dental implants. Our patients are consistently amazed at how our dental implant restorations look, feel, and function like your natural teeth.

At Ridge Pointe Dental, we lead the entire process for you! After our comprehensive evaluation, you will be referred to the proper specialist for an exclusive evaluation. This will determine the best option for YOU. Implants and implant placement protocols are important. Simply put: this isn’t the place to cut corners, so you can rest assured we will refer you to the proper dental specialty professionals -trained exclusively in dental implant placement. After the implant has been placed by our specialty care professional, Ridge Pointe Dental will provide you a dental implant restoration, called an “implant abutment and implant crown,” that will work perfectly and look great for years to come! If you need full mouth restoration, Ridge Pointe Dental offers  an “All-on-4” (a fixed, full arch prosthesis) OR dental implant overdentures.

No matter how serious the case, from single tooth replacement, to multiple tooth replacement, to replacing all of your teeth, Ridge Pointe Dental has options for you! From implant restorations to implant-retained overdentures, we can help give you the smile and function you deserve!

Orthodontics:

Ridge Pointe Dental partners with highly trained orthodontic specialists who make teeth straight and create beautiful smiles.  Partnership with our specialists will not only give you a great smile but it will also place your bite in harmony -protecting your TMJ!  Partnership with our specialists also keeps your teeth healthy and clean during your orthodontic care. If any cosmetic dentistry is needed after your orthodontic care, Ridge Pointe Dental can help provide teeth whitening options, followed by white, bright, beautiful bonding or veneer/crown work to complete your smile!
